From Istanbul to Antalya--

13 hours on a bus. Immediately I liked Antalya; it's a way cooler Turkish SoCal filled with nice, helpful, and considerate people. The differences between Turks in Istanbul and Antalya are immense; I noticed them within 5 minutes of getting to a city.....they care for each other and help each other out. Even though no one really speaks English, they help you as best as they can...like when I jumped on bus 16 to get back from the beach because it was listed on my pansyon's bus list, only to travel 2 hours into the boonies of a Muslim village in a BIKINI with no money. The driver flagged down another bus after I repeatedly said "hadrian's gate....McDonald's" and showed him a crappily drawn map, and told him "No lyra. Me-No lyra [that's Turkish currency]." He gave me back the money I'd paid for that fare and put me on a mini bus. So nice.

I loved Antalya. I also didn't get harrassed like in Istanbul, where I was constantly followed, talked to etc etc. That was horrible. Those negative experiences made me not like Istanbul as much as I thought I would; I thought I'd LOVE it.

Now I'm in Olympos, and if David hadn't already bought a Ticket to meet me in Greece next week, I'd probably ditch it altogether and stay here for the next month. They said I can work here if I want next summer, free room and board. YES PLEASE! I love it here! It's like "Kari's Fantasy Land."
They really should rename it to that, hahahaa. I'm staying in a Treehouse, free breakfast and dinner, inbetween HUGE mountains on the side of a river. Down the road there are jungle covered ancient ruins next to an amazing beach, with water clearer than Lake Tahoe and Hawaii's combined!!!!
Seriously. Love is an understatement for what I feel about this place. I feel like I'm at Camp Kennolyn again, but with people from all over then world and in a non English speaking country.
By the way, there is no ATM for miles, and I'm totally out of cash....I don't even know how I'll manage to take a bus out of here! Wonder if they take Kroner??? Hahahaha

Oh, and to understand my title, watch my video.
