Day and Night....and a Bird's eye view!

Rome is so flippin' photogenic, during the day, especially at night, and from the sky as well.
The magnanimous and colossal ruins of ancient Rome loom majestically above all the people, gazing with amazement from below.
Most of the people that work in Rome told me that the awe and novelty of it all wears off pretty quick; that most, even while working at the Colosseum, don't even give it a once over after about a week or two.
I told my friends that this wouldn't happen.
Why?
I'm the biggest archaeology dork ever, especially when it comes to Rome.
My awe did not dissipate.
Even down to my last night, walking away from a farewell dinner in the dark and the rain, I decided to approach the Colosseum one last time. This is when it really hit me that I was leaving Rome, and a tinge of sadness overcame me. I know I'll be back, and it's about that time to move on, but still....in Rome, just going for a wander meant I would encounter some great archaeological feat of 2000 year old impossibility.....completely mind boggling. Paradise, really.
So, goodbye, Rome, farewell mosquitos and ghosts of great empires past!
Well, enough of that. On to a new chapter.
But, in parting with Rome, I leave you with a few photos from my last night[s] in Rome.
Ciao, bella!
